How often should I run the field calibration function?

The purpose of performing a field calibration is to update the camera’s calibration parameters to account for any drift that may have occurred since the camera was first calibrated in the factory. For optimum spectral performance it is therefore recommended to run the field calibration at the start of each data capture session. It is also important to perform a field calibration after moving the camera between environments at different temperatures (e.g. between indoor and outdoor settings), and after any occurrences that may have caused additional drift in the device, such as transportation between locations, or any change in temperature. Temperature changes can occur due to heat generated by the camera itself, as such it is recommended that the field calibration be performed at least once every 10 minutes.
